Today marks the paperback release of Pandemonium, the second book in the Delirium trilogy!
If you want to preserve the look of your hardcover version of Pandemonium, but still want to read it over and over again (maybe even dare to let your friends borrow it!), then click the image below to order the paperback edition of the book!
Recently BookBird had the opportunity to have a question and answer session with Lauren Oliver!
In the interview, they discuss her writing, whether she likes physical books or e-books, and what inspires:
Do you think Book covers are important or should you never judge a book by it’s cover?
I think book covers can often be misleading, but I think everyone is guilty of doing it to a certain extent. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world who would it be?
Hmm… maybe Alanis Morissette. She’s one of my favorite singers and has had such an interesting life!
The full interview can be read here
Lauren Oliver has a lot to celebrate this year, as both Pandemonium and The Spindlers are included on Barnes and Noble’s Best Books of 2012 list!
The books were released in February and October, respectively, and they certainly did not disappoint! With Requiem just around the corner (less than three months!), Lauren is also proving herself to be very prolific!
Lauren Oliver and Delirium are officially embedded on the streets of Germany after winning the Buxtehuder Bulle Jugendbuchpreis, the one of the most renown youth book awards in the nation!
The award recipients are chosen by a panel of eight young adults and four adults from the local area. Lauren won in 2011, but her memento on the streets of Buxtehude seems to have just been added in recently!
The official Delirium Trilogy Facebook has a great photo of President Barack Obama and his daughters, Sasha and Malia, buying books at a local, independent bookstore in Virginia. What on top of their stack of books? Delirium and Pandemonium!
Lauren Oliver had this to say about the discovery on her Facebook:
LOVE that Obama & his daughters bought my books (DELIRIUM & PANDEMONIUM) ! I am so proud!
thecupishalffull, a lucky receiver of a Requiem ARC, posted this picture today:
I’m sure I can’t be the only one who is super jealous. At least the release date for Requiem is edging ever closer!
If you haven’t done it already, Requiem is up for pre-order. I know you might be tempted to buy from Amazon right away (with their can’t-beat-it below-cost prices), but don’t forget that there are still smaller businesses out there. Though more expensive than Amazon, Powell’s of Portland, OR fame also has the book up for pre-order with around-the-world shipping. Please support book stores when buying books, and buy local when Holiday shopping this year!
Goodreads, the social network for book lovers, is back with its annual Goodreads Choice Awards!
Lauren Oliver has been nominated for favorite Goodreads Author and Pandemonium has been nominated for best Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction!
Any member of Goodreads can vote in the awards. If you’re not a member, sign-up is as easy as providing a name and email address or simply connecting through Facebook! This may be beginning of the competition (Round One ends November 10) but it’s a fierce one, so get out there and support your favorites!
Lauren Oliver is full promotion mode for her new middle-grade book, The Spindlers, due to be published October 2nd! The Spindlers follows Liesel as she travels into a mystical underground world to save her little brother, whose soul has been captured by the evil Spindlers.
Many fans have asked Lauren came up with such an idea, so she created a video to show us!
As for why we haven’t seen much news regarding the Delirium trilogy recently, we think Lauren answered it best on her Tumblr:
