If Love Was A Disease

Would You Take The Cure?
Art comes from bentickle on tumblr. Beautiful!

Here on the Delirium Fandom, we so often see pictures with quotes, more often we see the same quotes over and over, each depicted with a picture to symbolise the meaning behind it that the creator sees suitable, or carries the message in the quote across to the audience. So it is a nice change and a rarity to see a new quote pop up and be used in a fan art creation.

If I asked you for a quote, the most obvious of answers would be ” I love you, remember they cannot take it” or “Live free or Die” This one here, I personally have never seen out side of the book, and all credit is to ladyvenusdefender who we thank for thinking over the fence, and brining a new quote to the fandom page, which we can share with everyone.

Keep them coming in, I love to see your works!

37 Brooks Street Episode 2

This month’s 37 Brooks Street discussion will focus around The Disease and Cure!

I am sure everyone here has a opinion on the subject, but lets take a moment to place ourselves within this world. Where as children we are brought up fearing love. No doubt if we had lived within this world we would have been just like Lena at the start of Delirium, counting down the days to our procedure. Or would you have been a bit more like Hana? Wanting that last fling of fun, as an act of rebellion before you settled down to your predefined fate!

Then we have the anomalies, where the cure didn’t quite work right, or we only know of the one, Lena’s mother, where the cure failed to work on her several times! This is a whole other debate in itself but could she be the answer to the uncure of the cure?

So let us know your thoughts on Love as a disease and the thought of living in a world where you would never have the fear of having your heart broken, where your partner would be chosen for you, and your choices were not your own. Comment bellow!

Prisoner 5996

The Crypts ward 6, in solitary confinement, caged a woman! “How many hours did she spend scrabbling along these walls like a rat?”

“So many hours, so many days, looping those same four letters over and over; that strange and terrifying word, the word that committed her here for over ten years.”

“And ultimately, the word that helped her escape. In the lower half of one wall, she has traced the word so many times in such enormous script LOVE, each letter the size of a child- and gouged so deeply into the stone that he O has formed a tunnel, and she had gotten out.”

This womans name is Anabell Gillies Haloway! And she is Lena’s Mother!

With thanks to maidenlimes and akaruri for the art work! Beautiful!

They cannot take it

This a simple creation, but says a lot.  The best part is the bright red heart, a symbol of love.   With all of the focus going straight to that, it’s very clear what they cannot take, no need to spell it out.

Major props to Fallennightraven on DeviantArt for this piece!
