It’s here, you guys! The short that explores Lena’s mother is finally up for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The purchase price is $2.99, and is only available on the US version of Amazon. It is only being released as an ebook.
This is the description on Amazon, for those of you who haven’t already read this short:
Lena’s mother, Annabel, has always been a mystery—a ghost in Lena’s past. Until now.
Discover her secrets in Lauren Oliver’s brilliant original digital story set in the world of New York Times bestsellers Delirium and Pandemonium.
Lena Halloway’s mother, Annabel, supposedly committed suicide when Lena was only six years old. That’s the lie that Lena grew up believing, but the truth is very different. As a rebellious teenager, Annabel ran away from home and straight into the man she knew she was destined to marry. The world was different then—the regulations not as stringent, the cure only a decade old. Fast forward to the present, and Annabel is consigned to a dirty prison cell, where she nurtures her hope of escape and scratches one word over and over into the walls: Love.
But Annabel, like Lena, is a fighter. Through chapters that alternate between her past and present, Annabel reveals the story behind her failed cures, her marriage, the births of her children, her imprisonment, and, ultimately, her daring escape.
Are you a UK reader who wants to check out Delirium without breaking a budget? Or are you desperately trying to convince a friend to read the series, even though they’re not sure they want to spend the money? Today is your lucky day!
Today only, the Kindle edition of Delirium is only £1.99 on Amazon.co.uk! You can download the book in under a minute and enjoy this wonderful book while paying next to nothing! Normally, Delirium sells for £6.99 for the Kindle.
Don’t have a Kindle? The price of the paperback edition is also seeing a (lesser) drop for the day. The book is currently selling for £4.59 instead of the usual £6.99!
Hello, my name is Adam Spunberg — creator of thefandom.net — and I’m here to tell a cautioning tale of book purchasing gone wrong.
You see, I ordered my copy of Pandemonium well in advance from Amazon, which would have been perfectly fine if I hadn’t gotten other ideas. As many of you probably know, Amazon has a Super Saver shipping discount: If you order $25 of merchandise or above, shipping is free.
Naturally, I thought, “What a perfect opportunity to get the Deathly Hallows I and II DVDs I’ve been wanting!” It never occurred to me that this inspired decision would also mean I wouldn’t get Pandemonium on its release day — February 28. Curses!
If you look at the image below, this is the less-than-lovely email I received from Amazon this morning:
As you can see from the parts marked in red, I now won’t be receiving Pandemonium, OR the Deathly Hallows DVDs until Friday. I’ve learned my lesson. Don’t make the same mistake I did! Super Saving isn’t worth hearing the whole world rave about how good a book is while you wait impatiently at your mailbox!
Ahhh. Getting that out makes me feel better now. Better, but not cured. Never will I be cured.
